Are you wanting to trailer your boat safely and effectively with your Vance hydraulic or manual kick-up plate in an all new way? The patent pending Vance TSM (Trailering Shear Mechanism) is here. This new add-on feature allows your Vance kick-up plate to be locked down while trailering your boat with the desired added bonus that if you forget to remove the trailering pin and hit something with your engine the pin can shear, it is designed to shear and release the mechanism allowing your engine to kick-up. This can prevent engine damage and loss compared to other competitor models. It can be added to existing Vance Hydraulic and Manual Kick-Up Plates without any drilling and installation time takes less than 1 hour. Typically it is only needed on one side of the Vance Kick-Up plate but bumpy roads/potholes may require 2 units to prevent unwanted pin shearing. Please note if you add both sides the amount of force required for the pins to shear if the engine strikes an object is drastically higher and may result in engine damage or loss. This product is designed with intention to prevent engine damage and/or loss and is not guaranteed.

 

Each side weighs approximately 2 pounds

 

Shear Pins/Hitch Pins are stainless steel. The body mechanism is anodized aluminum. Mounting hardware is stainless steel.

  • 2 qty hitch pin clips
  • All Parts and Hardware necessary for installation and function to existing Vance Kick-Up units
